FE International Alerts for Slack App Privacy Policy
FE International, Inc. — Effective Date: 01/01/2026
This Privacy Policy (this "App Policy") describes how FE International, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("FE International, "we, "our, or "us"), collects, uses, retains, and discloses information when you or a Slack workspace administrator installs, authorizes, configures, or uses the FE International Alerts for Slack application (the "App").
This App Policy applies only to information that is processed by the App. It does not apply to information processed by the FE International website, the FE International Marketplace, or any other FE International product, each of which is governed by its own privacy notice. For those, see the FE International Privacy Policy, the FE International California Privacy Notice, and the FE International Website Terms of Use.
This App Policy also does not apply to your use of Slack itself. Slack is provided by Slack Technologies, LLC, and your use of Slack is governed by Slack's terms and Slack's Privacy Policy. When you authorize the App, Slack passes information to FE International based on the OAuth scopes the workspace administrator approves; from that point forward, FE International's handling of that information is governed by this App Policy.
Please read this App Policy carefully. By installing, authorizing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to it. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App, and ask your workspace administrator to remove it from your workspace.
1. Who Can Install the App
The App is intended for use by adults in a business or workplace context, through a Slack workspace administered by an organization that has authorized installation. The App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 through the App. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 16 through the App, please email privacy@feinternational.com and we will investigate and delete the information as required by law.
2. Information We Receive Through the App
2.1 Information You or Your Administrator Provide
When the App is installed and configured, FE International receives the information that you or your Slack workspace administrator chooses to provide, which may include:
- the Slack workspace ID, team name, and the channels in which the App is invited to operate;
- the Slack user ID, display name, email address, and time zone of the installing administrator and of users who interact with the App;
- alert preferences and configuration choices, such as the listing categories, price ranges, geographies, or keywords you tell the App to monitor;
- messages, commands, and inputs you submit to the App through slash commands, message shortcuts, modals, or interactive components; and
- feedback or support inquiries you send to FE International through the App.
2.2 Information Slack Sends Us Through OAuth
When the App is authorized, Slack issues OAuth tokens to FE International with the scopes your workspace administrator approves. We use those tokens only to perform the actions the App is authorized for — for example, posting alert messages to selected channels, responding to slash commands or shortcuts, and sending direct messages to users who have invoked the App. We do not request OAuth scopes that are not necessary for the App to function.
We do not read, store, or analyze general workspace messages or channel content. The App only processes messages that are directed to it (for example, slash commands invoking the App, or messages in channels the App has been explicitly invited to and that mention or interact with the App).
2.3 Information We Collect Automatically
When the App is in use, our systems automatically generate and log limited operational information, including:
- API request and response metadata (timestamps, endpoints, response codes, error messages, and request volumes), which we use to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App;
- diagnostic and performance information about App processes, such as job durations, queue depth, and rate-limit handling; and
- aggregate usage metrics, such as the number of alerts sent and the number of slash command invocations, which we use to understand how the App is being used and to improve it.
2.4 What We Do Not Collect
Through the App, FE International does not:
- collect or store the contents of Slack messages that are not directed to the App;
- use cookies, mobile SDKs, advertising identifiers, or device-level identifiers — the App runs server-side and does not install software on your phone or computer;
- collect biometric information, precise geolocation, government-issued identifiers, or other sensitive personal information; or
- use information collected through the App for advertising, ad targeting, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.
3. How We Use the Information
FE International uses the information described in Section 2 to:
- provide the App and the alerts, summaries, and interactive features you or your administrator have configured;
- authenticate requests, enforce permissions, and prevent abuse;
- respond to your support requests, feedback, and questions;
- notify you and your workspace administrator about service interruptions, planned maintenance, security incidents, scope changes, and other operational matters;
- monitor performance, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability and quality of the App;
- analyze aggregate usage of the App to inform product decisions and prioritize improvements;
- comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, and enforce our agreements; and
- protect the rights, property, and safety of FE International, our users, and the public, including investigating and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
We do not use App information to train or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model outside the operation of the App itself, and we do not sell or share App information with advertisers.
4. When We Disclose the Information
FE International may disclose the information described in Section 2:
- to our affiliates and subsidiaries, where necessary to provide and support the App, subject to obligations consistent with this App Policy;
- to service providers and processors that host, secure, and support the App (for example, cloud hosting, error tracking, log aggregation, and customer-support tooling), each of which is bound by contractual obligations to keep the information confidential and to use it only for the purposes for which we provided it;
- to your Slack workspace administrator, who can see installation status, scope grants, and other administrative information through Slack's admin tools, regardless of any settings within the App;
- to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of some or all of FE International's assets, subject to customary confidentiality protections;
- where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FE International, our users, or others; and
- with your consent or at your direction.
We may also disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for any lawful purpose.
5. Your Controls
5.1 Workspace Administrator Controls
Your Slack workspace administrator controls whether the App is installed, which channels it operates in, and which OAuth scopes it has been granted. Administrators can revoke the App's access at any time through Slack's workspace settings, which immediately invalidates the App's OAuth tokens for that workspace.
5.2 User-Level Controls
Users can stop interacting with the App at any time, mute or leave channels in which the App posts, or ask their administrator to uninstall the App or change its scopes. Where the App offers per-user preferences (such as alert frequency or topic filters), you can adjust those at any time through the App's interactive controls.
5.3 California, EU/UK, and Other Jurisdictional Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights with respect to your personal information — for example, the right to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of certain processing, or appeal a denial. California residents should review the FE International California Privacy Notice for the rights and choices that apply under the CCPA and CPRA. To exercise any privacy right with respect to information processed through the App, email support@feinternational.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 During Installation
While the App is installed in your workspace, FE International retains the configuration data, OAuth tokens, and operational logs needed to provide the App. Diagnostic and performance logs are retained for a limited operational period, typically no more than ninety (90) days, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
6.2 After Uninstallation
When the App is uninstalled from a workspace — whether by an administrator through Slack's settings, by an explicit uninstall command, or by Slack's revocation of our OAuth tokens — FE International will:
- treat the uninstallation as a signal to stop using the workspace's configuration data for App operations immediately;
- delete or de-identify configuration data, alert preferences, and OAuth tokens associated with that workspace within thirty (30) days of uninstallation; and
- retain limited records (such as anonymized aggregate usage statistics, security and audit logs, and information we are required by law to keep) only as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.
If you would like us to delete information sooner than the timelines above, or have other questions about retention, please email privacy@feinternational.com.
7. Security
FE International maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information processed through the App against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. OAuth tokens issued by Slack are stored in encrypted form, access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems, and we monitor for anomalous activity. No method of transmission or storage, however, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If FE International becomes aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and any affected workspace administrator as required by applicable law.
8. International Data Processing
FE International is headquartered in the United States, and information processed through the App is hosted in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence and in a jurisdiction whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to support cross-border transfers.
9. Third-Party Services
The App relies on Slack to deliver messages and present interactive components in your workspace. Your use of Slack is governed by Slack's own terms and privacy policy. The App may also include links to FE International web pages or third-party resources for context (such as a link to a listing on the FE International Marketplace). When you follow such a link, you leave the Slack environment, and your interaction with the destination is governed by that destination's terms and privacy policy. FE International is not responsible for the practices of Slack or any third-party site or service.
10. Changes to This App Policy
FE International may update this App Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our practices, applicable law, or for other reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and provide notice through the App, by email to the workspace administrator, or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the App after the Effective Date of an updated App Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes.
